Four-track VA EP that finds Drivetrain exploring funky house and Detroit-rooted grooves across the board. 'Dreams Of An Insomniac' stands out as the standout moment - a track that captures the label's knack for balancing funkiness with real substance. Soiree Records International, Drivetrain's own Detroit imprint, continues to carve out space for house music that refuses to be pinned down. This EP is textbook stuff in that regard - grounded in Motor City sensibilities but never beholden to them. Four tracks that work equally well on a dancefloor as they do in headphone isolation.
